castration

Castrations

There is a law in Romania that obliges private individuals to castrate and register their crossbreeds. In many places this works increasingly well, but especially in the rural areas the population lacks the knowledge, the money and also the possibility (car) to implement this.

Here we would like to help to prevent that dogs continue to be abandoned and multiply uncontrolled. In most of the bigger cities the population is now contained not least by dog catchers and poisoning and therefore the work in the countryside is important to prevent the dogs from moving from there to the cities.

The population of street dogs in Bihor county has already been visibly reduced by castrating them continuously for many years. Nevertheless, unfortunately, puppies often end up at the animal shelter there as well. They come from private households and once they have been abandoned, it is very difficult to find their mother.

As long as dogs are abandoned and multiply, we feel responsible to help and to catch them or best of all to save them from it.

The castration of a male dog costs 25 € and that of a bitch 30 €. Help and participate in the costs for neutering.

Shared pain is half of the pain. These two girls voluntarily lay down in an open box and are waiting for their castration.

A routine intervention that is professionally performed is hardly visible. The bitch has quickly forgotten this sleep and usually the healing is rapid. Also this one was already the next day raging around more than we wanted to... be with us and take over her sponsorship.

We constantly need antiparasitics! Please donate diligently for castrations or for antiparasitic drugs, because this prolongs the life of the four-legged friends and thus also causes a lack of demand!
Vermin
On a Romanian farm the average age of the dogs and cats is hardly more than 5 years, because they are never treated against parasites. Also in this respect we would like to do educational work so that the flood of animals and eventually also castrations can be contained.
Life expectancy
on remote farms, the animals die young. Why? Because they are infested with vermin at the age of 4-5 years. Then they no longer do a good job and are chased away (uncastrated). When I tell the people there that a cat can live to be 15 years old, they look at me as if I were an alien. At the same time they are very open-hearted towards me. Many of the animals get kittens all the time and therefore have a strenuous life. We need a large supply of antiparasitic drugs so that we can treat the animals equally.
Castrated animals live longer in Romania!
